In and around Dalyan
Dalyan is very family orientated with something to do for everyone. Whether you want just to sit by the riverside and sip a drink and watch the sun go down or listen to live bands in one of the bars, there is something for everyone. In the main street there are plenty of restaurants and shops offering different kinds of foods and goods. From the riverside you can see the ancient Rock Tombs carved in the side of the mountain and illuminated at night. Dalyan is famous for the Caretta-Caretta (Turtle) and being a conservation area it is protected. You can also visit the Turtle Sanctuary located close to Iztuzu Beach. Iztuzu is also where the turtles come onto the beach at night to lay their eggs. There is a public boat at the harbour that will take you to Iztuzu Beach. It is an interesting ride; you will pass by the ancient tombs and proceed to this lovely clean beach with clear waters. There is also a bus (dolmus) that runs all day backwards and forwards to the beach. Dalyan is an unspoilt part of Turkey and once you arrive you won’t want to leave most people return year after year.
